Page 2 Welcome to the 2005 Taste at the Cove fashion show, skateboard expo and silent auction benefitting the San Diego Sports Medicine Foundation. It was a night of fun, fashions and plenty of excitement as Tony Hawk and Edward Ayab were honored at this yearly event. Viejas Casino president Steve Redfearn presents Tony Hawk with an award for his non-profit foundation which helps kids build and repair skate parks around the world. Through grants and other charitable donations, the foundation supports programs focusing on the creation of public skateboard parks, and other causes. The foundation favors programs that clearly demonstrate that funds received will produce tangible, ongoing, positive results in the community. All Pro quarterback and former Big Ten & NCAA passing leader Drew Brees takes a minute for a photo in between fashion shows at the event. The event was filled with San Diego Charger players who all came to help raise money and were very gracious when it came to getting photos, even if I was dumb enough to say I was from South Bend when talking to Drew Brees. I assured him however that I ALWAYS cheer for the Purdue Boilermakers anytime I watch college football:-)). Drew is not only an all pro on the field, but also off the field as a big part of the San Diego community contibuting and donating time to raise money for local San Diego charities.
